The Memorandum of Understanding between Vietnam and Norway was signed in 2006 to boost trade cooperation. And later in 2012, negotiations on the free trade agreement between Vietnam and the European Free Trade Area started.
Vietnam is currently home to approximately 40 Norwegian companies.

Renewable Energy: Norway has a lot ot offer when it comes to renewable energy. Norway solutions are available for international markets. Innovations based on long-standing industrial experience in key areas including offshore wind make Norway/Norwegian companies a solid partner moving forward.
Aquaculture: Norway and Vietnam have cooperated in the fisheries sector for nearly 40 years. Norway helped Vietnam develop the first Fisheries Law in 2023 and its implementing documents; supported surveys of aquatic resources; capacity building projects and activities in the fisheries sector.
